With the New Forest District Council’s recent roll-out of wheelie bins across the area, many local residents have been adjusting to the new system, and with it, some unexpected challenges.

Anyone who lives in the area knows that ponies, donkeys, pigs and cattle regularly roam freely. While this is part of what makes the New Forest so special, it also comes with its quirks. Food waste bins, in particular, have become an unexpected source of interest for hungry hooves and snouts, and a subject that’s already gained some lively local press coverage!

At Farwell’s, we’re proud to be part of the New Forest community and are always looking for ways to support local residents. That’s why we’re pleased to deliver practical, high-quality wheelie bin stores, built right here by our New Forest sawmill experts.

Made for residents in the New Forest

Our bin stores offer locals across the New Forest in areas like Beaulieu, Lymington, New Milton, and Brockenhurst a smarter way to tidy up their bins and keep those pesky snouts out!

They are built with the New Forest environment in mind, crafted from pre-treated, tanalised timber, which is strong, weather-resistant, and designed to keep your bins securely enclosed and out of sight.

Whether you need storage for one, two, or all three new bins (including the smaller food waste bin), we can build your store to your preferred size and layout. The stores can even be made lockable for extra peace of mind, which is especially important for those living in areas where wildlife is a regular visitor.

Custom sizes available

As with many of our Sawmill products, we’ll happily customise your bin store to suit your specific needs and space. Whether you’re looking for a natural timber finish or have particular size requirements, just get in touch with our team and we’ll explain the styles, sizes, and prices that could work for you.

Not only do these stores help keep your property tidier and more secure, but we build them with longevity in mind, so you won’t need to replace them after a few seasons of New Forest weather.

Supporting the local community

At Farwell’s, we’ve been supporting the New Forest community for over 70 years, from skip hire and haulage services to fencing and timber supply.

We know the challenges of rural life, and we take pride in offering products and services that are rooted in quality, practicality, and local knowledge. Our new bin stores are just another example of how we respond to what the local community actually needs and build something that lasts.

Whether you’re just getting used to the new bin system or you’ve already had a run-in with a curious pony, we’re here to help.
