totton ROLL-ON ROLL-OFF HIRE (RORO)
RoRo’s are the ideal solution for disposing large volumes of waste effectively, particularly in demolition and construction projects where there is a high volume of waste material. They can also be used for heavier material such as builders waste and large bulky items. We have 2 sizes available with capacity ranging from 16 to 35 yards. Our RoRo’s are not usually placed on a public highway due to their size.

SORTING YOUR SKIP HIRE PERMITS IN totton
Most of our residential skip hire orders are positioned in gardens or on driveways, so a permit is not required. If, however, you hire a skip that will be placed on a public road then you are legally required to have a skip hire permit. Farwell’s can arrange this for you, with minimum stress and disruption. Please note that it can take up to 5 working days for a permit to be processed, so keep this in mind when planning your project.

As a fully-licensed and registered waste carrier, Farwell’s take a proactive approach to recycling and protecting the environment. Collecting and disposing your waste in a safe and environmentally friendly way is our primary aim. You can be sure that your waste collection is in good hands, as we recycle a range of materials including wood, plastic, metal, furniture, soil and rubble.
RESTRICTED ITEMS
When disposing of your waste in one of ours skips, you should always consider what you are putting in it. There are certain items which are restricted. Usually, these items can be taken to the local household waste recycling centre, however a charge maybe incurred. Restricted items include:
- Gas bottles and fire extinguishers
- Paints, cooking oil and engine oil
- Electrical items such as fridges, freezers, televisions, microwaves
- Asbestos, explosives and hazardous waste
- Plasterboard (must be put in a separate skip)
- Household and garden chemicals
- Fuel - petrol and diesel
- Tyres
SKIP HIRE FAQ’S
If you’re unsure about what size of skip you may require or need advice on what you can put in it please take a look at our FAQ’s below:
Generally, you can hire one of our skips for 1 – 2 weeks but we can accommodate longer hiring periods depending on your individual requirements. Please remember that if you’re placing your skip on a public highway you will need us to arrange a permit for you. As we are fully licensed and registered waste carriers with the council we can do this on your behalf.
We recommend booking your skip in advance as we may need to apply for a permit. If the skip is going on private property we can sometimes provide same day or next day delivery, depending on availability and time of booking. We can provide you with an AM or PM slot and someone will need to be in to accept delivery.
If placing the skip on a public road then you will need a permit. We need up to 7 days to arrange this from the local authority. Most skip hire permits are valid for up to 2 weeks but can be extended for an additional cost.
When filling your skip, you should be mindful of what you are putting in it as there are certain items which you can’t put in it. This includes food and animal waste, liquids, electrical goods (TV’s fridges etc), plasterboard, asbestos, batteries, tins of paint, tyres, medical waste, gas cylinders, solvents and fuels. You can dispose of soil and rubble in our skips but we need to be notified at time of booking due to the weight.
