Ringwood SKIP HIRE PERMITS COSTS

You do not need to apply for a permit if your skip is being placed on your own private land – such as your driveway – however, a licence is required for any public road or pavement. Here to make your life simpler, G. Farwell Ltd. can arrange a Hampshire skip hire permit on your behalf. Our efficient team can assist you with the sorting of paperwork and permission as well as ensuring that you adhere to all the safety regulations, when placing it on a public highway. It can take up to 7 working days for your application to be processed and the licence agreed, and we are here to talk your though the process every step of the way.

WAIT AND LOAD SKIP HIRE

Farwell’s wait and load skip hire service will allow you to quickly move waste without having to place a skip on your property or public highway. Our wait and load service could be the right solution for you, especially if a permit won’t be granted by Hampshire County Council. It is particularly useful when space is limited, such as areas with tight access or where skips are not allowed to be left overnight. Like a refuse disposal lorry, once the waste has been created, we will turn up and wait whilst you load the skip.

RINGWOOD & FORDINGBRIDGE GRAB LORRY HIRE

For a quick and efficient way of removing large quantities of waste, we can save you the trouble of hiring a skip with our grab lorry service. It is the perfect solution when looking for a low-cost alternative to other waste removal methods.
Our grab lorry drivers are highly experienced operators and fully licensed to operate the grab crane. We take safety seriously and will consult with you prior to collection and onsite to ensure we fully understand your requirements and location. We can also use our grab lorries to deliver aggregates such as shingle, recycled concrete, scalpings, limestone and more. Please see our range of aggregates.

HIRE PERIODs

The length of time that you hire a skip from us will impact the cost. We do not offer unlimited hiring periods and if your skip is placed on a public highway or council land you will need a permit which is up to 2 weeks. We can usually accommodate extensions to this at an additional charge. Usually our customers book in advance and know the period they want to hire the skip for. We can accommodate for up 2 weeks, however we can also provide a quote for longer time periods. Council permits for placing your skip on the road are usually up to 2 weeks, for longer periods an additional fee will be charged.

SKIP WEIGHT LIMITS

The size and weight of a skip is measured in cubic yards, usually one cubic yard will contain up to one metric tonne of waste. If your placing soil or rubble in one of our skips please tell us at time of booking as the largest skip you can hire will usually be 6 or 8-yard. Larger skips will be too heavy for our lorries to lift once they have been loaded.

RESTRICTED ITEMS

When disposing of your waste in one of ours skips, you should always consider what you are putting in it. There are certain items which are restricted. Usually, these items can be taken to the local household waste recycling centre, however a charge maybe incurred. Restricted items include:

RINGWOOD & FORDINGBRIDGE SKIP HIRE FAQ’S

If you’re unsure about what size of skip you may require or need advice on what you can put in it please take a look at our FAQ’s below:
Generally, you can hire one of our skips for 1 – 2 weeks but we can accommodate longer hiring periods depending on your individual requirements. Please remember that if you’re placing your skip on a public highway you will need us to arrange a permit for you. As we are fully licensed and registered waste carriers with the council we can do this on your behalf.
We recommend booking your skip in advance as we may need to apply for a permit. If the skip is going on private property we can sometimes provide same day or next day delivery, depending on availability and time of booking. We can provide you with an AM or PM slot and someone will need to be in to accept delivery.
If placing the skip on a public road then you will need a permit. We need up to 7 days to arrange this from the local authority. Most skip hire permits are valid for up to 2 weeks but can be extended for an additional cost.
When filling your skip, you should be mindful of what you are putting in it as there are certain items which you can’t put in it. This includes food and animal waste, liquids, electrical goods (TV’s fridges etc), plasterboard, asbestos, batteries, tins of paint, tyres, medical waste, gas cylinders, solvents and fuels. You can dispose of soil and rubble in our skips but we need to be notified at time of booking due to the weight.
